Seeking an experienced travel nurse to coordinate kidney & pancreas transplant workups at a leading medical center in downtown DC. Job Details - Position: Travel Med/Surg RN – Transplant Coordinator (Kidney & Pancreas) / Travel Nurse - Location: Washington, DC 20007 (Georgetown) — On-site - Contract Length: 13 weeks (April 6, 2026 – July 6, 2026) - Shift: Days, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (8-hour days with 1-hour lunch) - Hours per Week: 40 - Estimated Weekly Pay: $2010 – $2120 - Employment Type: Travel Contract — travel nursing job, DC nursing jobs - No On-Call or Weekend Requirement Job Requirements - Active DC RN license required by start date (pending accepted for submission, but must be in hand prior to start) - BLS certification (AHA) required - Minimum 2 years of experience in clinic or acute inpatient Med/Surg settings (basic Med/Surg experience accepted) - Completion of at least one prior travel nursing assignment preferred - Flu vaccination required (no exemptions) - Experience with adult patient populations preferred - Familiarity with MedConnect EMR is a plus - Strong communication, coordination, and patient education skills for transplant nursing and transplant coordinator duties Responsibilities – Transplant Coordinator RN (Kidney & Pancreas) - Coordinate and manage the evaluation and transplant workup process for adult kidney and pancreas transplant candidates - Collaborate with a multidisciplinary transplant team including transplant surgeons, nephrologists, social workers, and fellow transplant coordinators - Provide patient and family education on kidney transplant and pancreas transplant procedures, pre-transplant preparation, and post-evaluation care - Schedule appointments, facilitate referrals, and ensure timely completion of required testing and labs - Perform nursing assessments, monitor patient status, and escalate clinical concerns to the transplant team as needed - Document patient interactions, care plans, and transplant evaluations accurately in MedConnect EMR - Maintain compliance with facility policies, unit-specific training modules, and transplant program protocols Why You'll Love Washington, DC (20007) Located in the prestigious Georgetown neighborhood, Washington, DC 20007 blends historic charm, riverside scenery, and easy access to world-class dining, shopping, and cultural attractions.
