Job Description:
MedStar Health, a leading not-for-profit healthcare
organization, is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant
(PTA) for home care in Prince George's County. This role provides
you an opportunity to join a team of compassionate professionals
who deliver a full range of health care services directly to
patients' homes. As a PTA, you will work under the supervision of
our skilled Physical Therapists to enhance patient recovery,
prevent disability following injury, relieve pain, and promote
mobility for our patients. This position requires traveling to
patient homes in designated territories, necessitating a reliable
mode of transportation. Assist Physical Therapists in the
implementation of treatment plans. Document patient response to
therapy interventions, adapting methodology as required to meet
individual needs and goals. Educate patients and families on
exercises, therapy techniques, and prevention strategies relevant
to the recovery process. Ensure consistent care by maintaining
thorough communication with therapists and other team members.
Travel to various patient homes within the designated territory.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to perform
physical tasks and maneuvers as prescribed Proficiency in
maintaining accurate and detailed reports Capability to work
independently in a home-care setting Knowledge of therapy equipment
