Many pain management practices, as they grow, lean toward becoming “pill mills” or “block shops” in order to cover increased costs. We achieve this through longer appointment times and easier access to practitioners and other staff. A wider breadth of treatment options “in-house” is accomplished through constant adoption of new pharmaceutical therapies, interventional procedures, and other conservative modalities to ensure truly comprehensive patient care. CPC also focuses heavily on education of not only our staff but our patients as well. Job Description: Mid-Level Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant – Pain Management The mid-level practitioner with Comprehensive Pain Center (CPC) will work with a Board Certified Medical & Interventional Pain Management Physician, Dr. Mark Matsunaga. Essential Job Functions: · Obtains and documents patient medical histories and interval histories. · Performs and documents physical examinations and develops plans of care. · Prescribes appropriate analgesic regimens and recommends appropriate interventional pain management therapies including but not limited to epidural steroid injections and neuromodulation. · Orders and interprets laboratory and radiological tests; UDT monitoring for compliance. · Patient education including but not limited to medication benefits & risks, interventional procedure benefits, and neuromodulation options. · Work hours: Per Diem: up to but no more than 40 hours per week M-F 8am-5pm.
