Job Description Job Description Job Overview B & B Site Management is seeking two in-person Construction Estimators to support our growing operations: Estimating Department Manager – Senior-level role overseeing large, complex estimates and managing estimating workflow Estimator – Junior to mid-level role assisting with estimates and handling smaller, field-based projects Both positions play a key role in preparing accurate and competitive estimates for site and civil construction projects while supporting successful bidding, planning, and execution. This is an in-person position based at our office. Remote or hybrid work is not available. Duties & Responsibilities (Responsibilities will vary based on experience and position level) Develop detailed cost estimates for site and civil projects by reviewing drawings, specifications, and scope documents Perform quantity takeoffs, pricing analysis, and bid preparation Utilize estimating tools such as QuickBooks, Excel, and similar software Solicit, review, and negotiate pricing from subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors Collaborate with project managers and operations to review scope, schedules, and contract requirements Assist with bid strategy, proposal submissions, and project handoff to operations Track estimates, bid results, and historical cost data Identify potential risks, scope gaps, and cost impacts early Additional responsibilities for Estimating Department Manager: Lead and manage estimating department workflow and deadlines Review and finalize large or complex estimates Ensure accuracy, consistency, and timely completion of bids Support process improvement and estimating standards Additional responsibilities for Estimator: Assist with estimates and takeoffs under manager guidance Handle smaller estimates and field-based pricing Participate in site visits and field coordination as needed Experience & Qualifications (Preferred, not required — experience level will determine role) Experience estimating site work or civil construction projects Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and pricing Hands-on field experience strongly preferred (especially for Estimator role) Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and contract documents Strong organizational, communication, and negotiation skills Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines in a fast-paced environment Company Description B & B Site Management, Inc. is a team-oriented site development company specializing in grading, utilities, and excavation for commercial and residential projects.
